Are the eBay fees and shipping estimates accurate?

Yes — SnapShip uses eBay's standard final value fee structure (typically 12.9–15% depending on category) and real USPS shipping rates based on AI-estimated item weight and dimensions. The numbers are accurate enough to make a confident buy/skip decision at the source.

SnapShip calculates eBay fees using the same tiered structure eBay applies to most sellers: a percentage of the total sale price including shipping, capped per transaction. The exact fee can vary slightly based on your eBay store tier and the specific category — but the estimate is accurate for the vast majority of resellers.

For shipping, SnapShip's AI estimates the item's likely weight and dimensions based on what the item is, then fetches real USPS rates for that estimated size and weight. This is more accurate than a flat guess, and it updates automatically as you change your asking price.

If you know the exact weight and box dimensions for an item, you can override the shipping estimate inside the app to get a more precise profit calculation. This is especially useful for heavier or oddly shaped items.

Bottom line: the fees and shipping numbers are realistic estimates designed to give you an accurate profit picture — not exact accounting. For final numbers, always verify with eBay's fee calculator and your actual shipping label cost.
