Are the results accurate?
Yes. SnapShip pulls real eBay sold listing data — actual prices buyers paid in the last 30 days, filtered by item condition. The prices are not estimates or averages from a database — they're live sold comps from eBay itself.
The accuracy of a SnapShip result depends on two things: how precisely the AI identifies the item, and how many recent sold comps exist on eBay for that item.
For clearly branded, well-lit items — sneakers, electronics, video games, brand-name clothing — the AI identification is highly accurate and the sold data match is tight. You'll see a confident profit number and a clear BUY IT or LEAVE IT verdict.
For items with no visible branding, very poor lighting, or extremely niche items with few recent eBay sales, SnapShip will return a lower-confidence result or an UNCLEAR verdict. That's intentional — showing you a number based on thin data would be worse than showing you nothing.
For best accuracy: shoot in good natural light, make sure any brand name or model number is visible and in focus, and use the two-photo feature when there's a label or tag on the back or bottom of the item. SnapShip was designed for two-photo scans specifically to improve identification accuracy.
