Do I need an eBay account to use SnapShip?
No. SnapShip pulls eBay sold data on your behalf — you don't need to connect or log in to any eBay account to scan items and see profit calculations. Just open the app and start scanning.
The core features of SnapShip — AI item identification, eBay sold price lookup, profit calculator, shipping estimator, and BUY IT / LEAVE IT verdict — all work without any eBay account. SnapShip accesses eBay's publicly available sold listing data on your behalf.
The only feature that requires an eBay account is the one-tap listing generator, which lets you post items directly to eBay from inside SnapShip. If you want to use that feature, you'll connect your eBay seller account from the app's settings. But it's completely optional — many users scan with SnapShip and then manually post their listings on eBay separately.
You also don't need an eBay seller account to get value from SnapShip. Even if you sell on other platforms — Mercari, Facebook Marketplace, Poshmark — the eBay sold data is still the most accurate secondary market benchmark available, and the profit calculator works for any selling platform.
